In 1890 Samuel David and Christina Scott Thomson immigrated to the Minto area of North Dakota from Ottawa, Canada. Their home was named Glen Holly and it is said that it was just outside Minto. Named Glen Holly because both were of Scotish descent. Family description states the following: "This was a beautiful place, quite large (the house) with acreage, fruit trees and a nice garden behind the house and across a small river. Access to the gardens was by means of a foot bridge. The children had a play area across the river." I see by the 1910 census it lists this family as living on Harvey Avenue. Samuel was a carriage or wagon maker by trade. Christina was very musical.
Can someone tell me if there is an place such as this in the Minto region. River? Creek? I would guess that the house is long gone.
Any information will be appreciated.
