Hello Cousin Bob!This is fantastic!I wish my mother was alive she would be delighted! She died September 14, 1991 at St. John of God Hospital in Brighton, MA. She had no brothers or sisters unless Grandpa Joe had other children which I guess he had as your Dad must have been his son. What is your father's name?Did he have any other siblings?Did he ever talk about a 1/2 sister? My mother was born April 28, 1915 in Boston.I also was born in Boston.I moved to Virginia in late December 1998 and now I live in Fairfax, VA.Are you still in Boston?I was born August 21, 1945.I have a brother, Clarence Oliver Phippen, Jr. who lives in Pennsylvania.I have a half sister named Charlene Dunn who is my father's daughter from his first marriage.Charlene and her husband, Jack, live in Holliston, MA.
My E-Mail address is [email protected] is yours?
In the 1980's, I taught in Framingham, Ma.My Department Head was Joseph Nealon of Milford, Ma.I didn't tell him that my mother was a Nealon, but he looked just like my Mother with beautiful blue eyes and a pale white complexion. He and she even had the same shaped nose.I did ask him if he knew of Joe in East Boston, but he didn't.At that time, Joe, my Deprtment Head was about 60.I know almost nothing about Grandpa Joe as the connection was not maintained.I think my Mother knew more, but she never really talked much about it.When I would ask her questions, she said that her //dad tried to maintain contact, but that she felt if she did, she would hurt my Grandmother's feelings.I tried lookinf for info on Grandpa Joe in the records online, but I never knew his middle initial or his age, just what I told you in my previous e-mails.Do you know what the "B" stood for or his birthdate?Do you have siblings?
My brother and I are Catholic, but my parents weren't.My Grandmother, Irene's mother, Gertrude Alice Henderson was born in Boston on April 19 or 20th (whichever is Hitler's birthday)in 1895.She converted to Catholicism in the 1950's and asked my parents to bring us up Catholic which they did.I assumed that Grandpa Nealon wwas Irish, but I really didn't know. Was he married only once? You say his sister was Dorothea and maybe a 1/2 sister. What makes you think that?Do you think that Nana Kate was his wife and your grandmother?
I do know that both my Grandmother and mother say he was handsome. My mother must have looked very much like him as she looked like no one else in her Mother's family.
Thank you so much for responding to my e-mail!I am so happy to have some information on my mMother's paternal family.
