Paul:
I just now read your post regarding the Neaves family in
England.
I have traced my ancestors back to 1790 in North Carolina, USA. There was a
John Neves (Neaves)
on the census records. I don't know if this was a misspelling or if the
actual real spelling.
His sons William and Timothy show up on the 1840 census for Alabama, USA. It
has been passed down from some of the living relatives that I have been able
to locate that John came the US from Scotland in the mid
1700's. The Neaves surname is suppose to be sept of the Murray Clan from
Scotland. I have not been able to locate any ship's log or anything to
support these findings yet.

Do you have any information about your ancestors? Could they possibly have
moved from Scotland to England?
