His father, a shoemaker, born +-1860's, emigrated from Holland, they lived in the Transvaal province in SA. I'm trying to locate any Dutch ships that came to SA between 1890 & 1895, perhaps he was on one of them. I found a record in the bevolkingsregister of Harlingen a Sipkje vd Werff, emigrating to Pretoria, SA, 1894, but I have no idea as to the ships names. Also, presumably, Sipkje is a female name?
