Hendrick van Schoonhoven

Am looking to connect with dutch ancestors of Hendrick van Schoonhoven whose sons immigrated to the New Amsterdam area in the mid 1600's. Claes Hendricksen van Schoonhoven is my ancestor and from what I understand the name van Schoonhoven just meant that he was from the township of Schoonhoven, Holland. I have never been able to make any connection to any one still left in Schoonhoven who was related to Hendrick. Research said he was born in 1600 and he never left to go to America. The name Hendrick could be the clue but with the dutch naming system it will take someone there in the Netherlands to make the connection. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have compiled research for my family for over 30 years. The so called "bastard Schoonover line" came from Claes's son Hendrick Claessen who married Debora Davids, a very colorful story.
