Thanks Michael! I had some of this information but didn't have the date of death of Wigger Egberts Vos or the occupation information.
I found that the child, Jan Tonnis Sikkenga born to Tonnis and Arentje prior to their marriage (I don't have the exact date) died in Uithuizermeeden on June 19, 1844. They had other children and named another child Jan on June 22, 1847, but I have no further information on the second Jan Sikkenga. I would assume this second child's full name would also be Jan Tonnis Sikkenga in the patrionomic system.
Jan's siblings Egbert, Wigger,Jacob, Martje (the second Martje) and another sister emigrated to the USA in the late 1800's. I would love to find out what happened to the 2nd Jan Tonnis born in 1847, and a Remmert Sikkenga born in 1861.
Again, thanks for your help!!! Are you in USA or in the Netherlands??? Any relation to the Sikkenga family???
