Mary Neville
I am looking for information about my g-grandmother, Mary Neville, who married William (I believe) James in Ireland.Their son, William Henry James born in 1876, was my grandfather.Mary Neville died when her son was a "young man", certainly before 1900, and when William James Sr. remarried, it caused a rift between father and son that never healed. When William Henry James married Susan Eizabeth Mosely Prinn in Belfast in 1911, they emigrated to Canada.
William James Sr. raised and/or trained horses; my grandfather apparently remembered the Empress of Austria, a famous horsewoman, visiting.I understand that the family home was known as Sion/Syon House, which may have been in what is today Northern Ireland, or in the South, since I believe the family had residences in both.
The 1901 census states that my grandfather was born in County Down.
Mary Neville is supposed to have been related to the Neville family whose lineage stretches back to William the Conqueror, but I have no information at all of her personal ancestry.Any help would be most welcome.
