Perc J Nevitt, 56,of 1030 N 4th St, died at 4 am Monday at Memorial Hospital where he was admitted at 2:25 pm Sunday following an overdose of aspirins.Coroner William C Telford said that Nevitt told the nurses in the emergency section of the hospital that he had taken 84 aspirins around 8 am Sunday and then went to a tavern to get something to drink.nevitt was taken to the hospital, Telford said, by private car after he became ill at the tavern.Nurses told the coroner that Nevitt told them he was tired of living.Nevitt a former Springfield fireman, retiring in 1965.He had also worked as a bartender.An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death and an inquest would be held.Mr Nevitt was born in Springfield, the son of Jesse and Margaret Tucker nevitt.He was a member of the third Presbyterian Church.Surviving are his wife, Dorothea; one son, Douglas of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs William Cox and Mrs Harold Tackleson, both of Springfield, and three grandchildren.The body is at Ellinger & Kunz funeral home. ***************************************************************************************
