I came across a copy of the Newlove Family Tree in the Borthwick Institute of York University (England) when I was a student there in 1975. It is an amazing piece of research - is it available online? My father, Charles, grandfather, John Godfrey, g-grandfather, John William, (all born in London) and others were all listed. To my shame, I did not follow up any contacts but my mother's research shows a Yorkshire connection, descended from Christopher Newlove of Wetwang (East Yorks) and I found lots of Newloves in the local telephone directory. Where does the name come from? Were our ancestors Vikings who settled on the east coast of England? When did the Newloves go to Canada? Hope to hear from other Newloves wherever you are.
