NIEDZWIECKI, Walter S. Walter S. Niedzwiecki, 81, of Enfield, died peacefully on Wednesday, (February 14, 2007) at the Suffield House. Born in Ludlow, MA. on October 8, 1925, Walter was the son of the late Stanley and Anna (Plata) Niedzwiecki. Walter had resided in Enfield for 48 years and was a communicant of Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as an electrician and retired in 1983. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of the Ludlow Country Club. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. A loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Evelyn (Rybeck) Niedzwiecki; his daughters, Carol Stewart and her husband Ben of Weston, FL. and Susan Porcello and her husband David of Suffield; his sister, Lydia Galat and her husband Frank of South Hadley, MA; and his six grandchildren, Bennett Stewart, Morgan Stewart, Alyssa Stewart, Dean Porcello, Karoline Porcello and Maria Porcello. At the request of the family, funeral services and burial are private. The family acknowledges with grateful appreciation both Hospice and the staff at the Suffield House for the wonderful care they provided.
