I have two books by Dr. Henry Bisbee that list and give information about early town names in Burlington County and did not find a listing for Pambam. My first inclination was to think it might be a misspelling of Pemberton.
If you'll list some names of the people mentioned as being from Pambam, I'll see if I can locate them in Burlington County during the 1850-1860 timeframe you mentioned.
