I am interested in info on the Shannon family who immigrated between 1847 and 1852. Thomas (b.@1820 Ireland) and his wife Catherine (b.@1824 Ireland) came to Boston,MA after the birth of their first son James F. (b. 1847 Ireland). While living in Worcester County,MA Annie V. was born to them in 1853. Soon after they moved to Mt. Holly, NJ and had the following children:John E. b. 1856, Thomas F. b. 1859 and Mary b. 1864. Thomas was a cordwainer (shoemaker) and they lived on Washington Street. Thomas died in 1877 and the family slowly moved to Philadelphia while retaining the house on Washington Street. I know this is quite a bit of info but there is always more out there. I have not located their actual burial places or the actual house on Washington Street. I would like to make a day trip to Mt. Holly to take photos of the house, possible workplace, church they might have attended and their burial places. If anyone could verify that these people actually are buried ,etc . in Mt. Holly and where I would be very grateful. Thomas Sr. died in 1877 and is supposed to be buried in Mt.Holly. John E. is said to be buried either in Bordentown or Mt. Holly depending on which newspaper you have. Katherine (Catherine) died in 1907 I do not have her place of burial. Thank you for your time, S. Hoffman Notify Administrator about this message?
