Although I've been researching my family genealogy for nearly 40 years, I always accepted what others sent me on the Camp family and never did any research myself. . .and I do not know where the earlier researchers found their information. Now I'd like to learn more about the Camps and properly document that line.
My oldest Camp ancestor (identified by others) is Joseph CAMP born about 1748 in NJ. He married Mary [maiden name not known to me]. I've been given the names of 11 children, born between 1776 & 1802; the first 10 born in Cumberland Co. and the youngest in Camp May Co., NJ.
My line follows through their son Thomas CAMP, b. 29 Feb 1780, Cumberland Co. & d. 25 Dec 1856, Cape May Co. He married Elizabeth HOFFMAN, b. 13 Sept 1785, Cumberland Co. & d. 18 Sept 1863 Cumberland Co.
Does anyone recognize this Cumberland Co. family? I have full names & dates for several generations, but no idea where this information comes from.
Any suggestions, clues, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
