My oldest Camp ancestor (identified by others) is Joseph CAMP born about 1748 in NJ. He married Mary [maiden name not known to me].
The Records of the Swedish Church of Maurice River identifies MARY HOFFMAN CAMP as the daughter of FREDERICK and CATHERINE HOFFMAN. Church records give her birth as Jan. 11, 1755 with baptism Dec. 03, 1755.
FREDERICK HOFFMAN was b. abt. 1723 , the son of JOHAN FREDERICK HOFFMAN and wife CATHERINE. Both died in 1748 and are buried in Port Elizabeth Swedish Cemetery. His will was written on April 26, 746 and was proved May 06, 1748.
JOHAN FREDERICK HOFFMAN was the son of JOHAN(JOHN) HOFFMAN b. Sweden, d. Raccoon(Swedesboro) NJ Feb. 09, 1715. He and wife BEITHE or BERTHIL are mentioned in the Swedish Lutheran Church Records.
