1809-1840 Deeds: Swain, Donnelly, Lee, Methodists

Before I pay for the Cumberland County (NJ) Deeds below, I want to see if someone already has a copy, or at least an abstract. The NJ Archives has these Deeds boxed with the "Albert Peterson Papers" [PPETE001] which primarily contain transactions of the Lee family.

Possibly these Deeds are also at the Cumberland County Courthouse, and/or the LDS center at Vineland, NJ.

One of my interests is to determine the first name of Joab Swain's mother, a Langley. Joab's father was a Richard Swain who died before 1792.

Richard, the son of the Nantucket Richard Swain relocated before 1700 to Cape May County. Relevant records also may exist in Atlantic County, where some Swains lived in Tuckahoe, wedged between Cape and Cumberland. I say "might" because, to complicate things even more, Atlantic County was cut out from Gloucester County in 1837, so the pre-1837 recs might instead be in the GC Courthouse at Woodbury.

----box 5 #4. Joab Swain, to Thomas Lee, Cumberland (town not given)12/12/1808

----box 4 #80. William Donnelly, to M.E. Church, Pt Eliz., Cumberland 12/25/1840

----box 5 #29. Methodist Society to Thomas Lee (town not given) Cumberland 9/5/1812
