Patrick Kiley was born in Ireland abt 1838: immigrated to US in 1856; and married Ellen at an unknown date and place. Both died in Newark, Ellen in 1907 and Patrick in 1923.
Family history contains the names of 8 sons of Patrick and Ellen. Records found to date link only 6 of the 8 sons to the couple. The 8 sons are listed in the order of their birth (all in NJ) below; those known to have had children are astericked(*).
1. William F. Kiley (b. 1871-2; m. Mary McGough; died 13 Nov 1938).
2. Michael Burnett Kiley* (b. 15 Jun 1876; m. Mary Agnes Lee; died 7 Oct 1944). Newark policeman and fireman for 30 years.
3. John F.Kiley (b. abt. 1877; m. Ada Barkman; d. 19 May 1913).
4. Thomas Joseph Kiley* (b. 1870; m. abt 1907Susan Clarken; d. 23 Oct 1923). Newark fireman
5. Joseph Richard Kiley (b. 15 Jun 1881; m. Mary (Surname unknown); d. between 1918 and 1944).
6. Patrick William Kiley, Jr* (b. 21 Aug 1883; m. Anna (Surname unknown); d. between 1918 and 1944).
