I am looking for the family of William Howard Brooks and his wife Edna who lived in Newark, Essex County, NJ at the time of the 1920 and 1930 censuses. William was born in 1896 in Lytle, Atascosa County, Texas and went to Pennsylvania and then to New Jersey as a young man. In the 1920 census he was 23 years old, wife Edna was 19 who came from Russia in 1913, and in the same household was William's sister, Ellen, also born in Texas.
In the 1930 census William and Edna, 34 and 31 respectively, were still in Newark, with their two children -- William Jr., born about 1921, and Virginia, born about 1923. With them was William's father, William D., age 55, a widower, also born in Texas. In this census Edna lists her birthplace as Poland.
William died in 1977 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That's all I know about him.
