I'm trying to find the family of S/Sgt. Helge E. Wessman, ASN: 32432466, 506th Bomber Squadron, 44th Bomber Group, Heavy. S/Sgt. Helge E. Wessman was KIA on October 7, 1944.

S/Sgt. Wessman entered the service from Ft. Jay, Govenors Island, NY on August 19, 1942.

He was born in 1911 and before entering the service he was living in Essex County, NJ. S/Sgt. Wessman entered the United States in 1928. He was a native of Sweden. Army records show that he was not an American citizen yet when he enlisted. After arriving in the States he found a home with his relatives Victor and Hilde Nelson in Harrison, Westchester County, NY.

S/Sgt. Wessman is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and his grave is adopted. The adoptive family would like to get in touch with the Wessman and Nelson family.
