Seeking any info on my G Uncle, Charles James CLUFF, born 22 Feb 1886 in Chincoteague, Va., son of George W and Mary Anne Taylor Cluff. Siblings include Elisha, Anne E, Charles Washington, Bettie, Nancy E, Julia Anne and Gertrude Mae.
The 1920 US Census lists Charles J Cliff,(note spelling) age 34, wife Lucy ???, age 32 and two sons, John age 12 and Vergil, age 11 , living in West New York Ward 1, Hudson, NJ. The two sons were Lucys children from her 1st marriage and adopted by Uncle Jimmy. I would also like to know Lucys maiden name and her 1st marriage info.
According to WWII Registration Card, they lived at 440 Sharratt Road, Charleston, Richmond County, NY. old telephone # Tott 8-2013. Jimmy was listed as age 56 and worked for the New York Central Railroad, Beaver Street, NYC, NY, as a Marine Engineer.
Any info on this family will be greatly appreciated.
