My late great-uncle was Waldo Pierce Decker. He died in Long Beach, California June 1964. His CA death certificate said he only lived in California one year. His obituary says he recently moved to Long Beach from Weehawken, NJ. Does or did Weehawken issue street directories? I mean lists which contain the streets with names and the numbers and who lived at them. Does anyone have access to 1964, 1963, and earlier? I am trying to learn the identity of the wife of Waldo. On his California death certificate it says he is married and the name of spouse is Mary Decker. If he only lived in Long Beach a year before dying it seems to me he would havae been married elsewhere, perhaps in or near Weehawken. Are NJ marriage indexes available? I do not subscribe to paid geneology services as money is tight now and I am not working. Is there a Weehawken historical or geneology society? How would I find out if he owned a house in Weehawken? I would imagine there is an assessor office that has buy sell records of property there. I ahve no idea of the maiden name of Mary and no idea really where they got married, so this is a guess looking in NJ. Please let me know what you all find and please offer me any other advice. Thanks. Notify Administrator about this message?
