Periodically, I go over my research on the Johnson/Johnston family in Alexandria Twp., hoping I can find new clues overlooked before. Here is the family that I am working on (again)- perhaps posting a query will bring forth others also of this family with whom to exchange information. The earliest member is Ralph Johnston/Johnson, Sr. born we know not when or where, ca 1725 (?); died ditto - some time after 25 March 1803. Nothing has been found for a will, military service, etc. - it appears that he had been a tenant farmer in charge of someone else's property and/or leased land for himself and paid taxes. (from what little found on him to date); and if served any military, perhaps militia and nothing has been found for that, either. No idea of a wife although he MAY have been the Ralph who had a wife Elizabeth in a court case in 1807 - but then again, it could have been his son Ralph. One or both of them seemed to have been in court a great deal of time. The sons/children of Ralph found by a professional researcher hired many years ago by my co-researcher/"cousin" were:(no daughters?)- Ralph, Jr. who was on tax rolls in Alexandria Twp 1803 & may have been the one in court 1807; my Christopher Bern Johnson who md. Sarah Everett, born 1752 and died 1838 in Penn.; Robert; Jonathan and David who had a wife Mary "Polly" Fitzgerald. I would like to know more about this family, especially the father, Ralph, Sr. I do have Christopher pretty well covered, so it is his father and siblings that remain a mystery....
