The Ringo Family History reflects John Hunt (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) was well known to the Ringo family, all of which were Presbyterians. Ringo records reflect John Hunt met Philip Ringo in Hopewell around 1737 and were involved in various legal issues, including filing a complaint together with the Overseers of the Poor of the Township. Records also indicate Cornelis Ringo witnessed Abigail Hunt's Will in Maidenhead (Now Princeton) 1767. Ringo records also indicate that the Hunt family regularly attended meetings at the Ringo Tavern in Ringoes regarding issues with King George. There two possibilities regarding the Hunt/Burrows burying place. One is the burying yard behind the Presbyterian Church in Ringoes or the Burying yard in Hopewell. There has been substantial research done on these burying yards. Both churchs are still standing and active.
