How much more information can you provide? I descend from Capt. John Taylor of the 4th Hunterdon Militia. He is not the same John that is brother to Edward and Freegift, whom I suspect were rather liberal in their interpertation of their relationship to him. The dates they give as serving under Capt. John were well after Capt. John had been promoted to Major and Col. (If I remember their affidavit correctly.) What is the name of John's daughter, your ancestor? When/where was she born. Were there other children?
