NOTES:
By 1810, William has died, and the Family has moved to Mercer Co. Kentucky. On Nov. 4,1810, the boys have a step father, Cornelius DEMAREE/DEMARE. The boys will loose their Mother within the next few years sometime between 1815-1820. I am assuming sometime between 1815-1816 since Thomas Gilkerson (Mary “Polly”’s brother) became the guardian for both John and James. John was awarded to Thomas on April 1,1816, and James was awarded to Thomas on Oct. 7,1816, in Mercer Co. Ky.
Thomas Gilkerson (who was also the bond for Polly Waddle and Cornelius Demaree when they married Nov 4, 1810 or Nov 11, 1811).
Cornelius Demaree's Family came to America prior to 1675. The Family escaped religious persecution in France by moving to the Rhine river, then to the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam in 1663. They later moved to Hackensack New Jersey.
I have found that the Gilkeson Family and Demaree family belonged to the Dutch Reformed church of Schraalenburgh. I would guess that the Waddle's also belonged to this church. I found the families moved together, first from Va. then to Mercer Co. Kentucky, and then to Park Co. Indiana.
William B. WADDLE/WADDELL & Mary "Polly" (GILKESON/GILKERSON) had at least 2 children: John GILKESON/GILKERSON & James H. WADDLE/WADDELL
