I'm not related to this family.

RE: 1820 census that you refer to -
1820 census only listed the head of household. No place of birth was stated, parents place of birth was not stated, no ages are stated.

Further - NJ was not a state in 1820.

Not until the 1880 census was the parents place of birth listed.
