an article in-press re: John Poole Schermerhorn, Sr.'s accomplishments as a potter in an article where I'm co-author (2nd greatgrandson). This family is supposedly Schodack branch, with JPS moving from NY near or in Schodack (possibly Troy/Albany or even Greenbush) to Middlesex Co. NJ (Old South River Bridge later Old Bridge) and then Richmond, Virginia in the 1803-1810 time period. J.P.'s father apparently a Cornelius b. c. 1755-65 who lived and died in Schodack has not been determined. If anybody has researched one or more of these Cornelius'(Rennselaer/Albany Co.) during this time period and has information other than that from Richard Schermerhorn Jr.s. genealogy I'd be interested in connecting. The census makes it very difficult to eliminate many of the candidate Cornelius Schermerhorn's so I need to flesh-them out and put some meat on their bones and learn more about the families to eliminate them. Any leads, suggestions, clues or direction gratefully appreciated, Sterling S.
