Patrick Keough - Naturalization/DOI - 1860's

I am hoping that someone can access an index to, or the actual records of, either the Naturalization or Declaration of Intent for a Patrick KEOUGH.

Patrick immigrated to the US circa 1855. He and his wife Bridget (nee MURPHY) were in NJ until 1865 as by 1866 they have moved to Franklin Co., IA.

Patrick was born abt 1830 in Ireland, and Bridget (also from Ireland) was born abt 1833.

I am not certain that Patrick and Bridget were married before they arrived in the US, only that they were married by 1859/1860 .. so any record for Patrick may reference him as a single man depending on its year.

The spelling of the name could be KEOUGH, KEOGH, KEHOE or a similar variation, although in census records the KEOUGH spelling for this family seems to be fairly constant.

According to 1870 & 1880 Fed. census records their first 3 children [Thomas- 1860, Etta - 1862 and Frank- 1863] were born in NJ. Their 4th child [Julia- 1864] may or may not have been born in NJ. Their subsequent 5 children were all born in IA.

I have a 1908 insurance policy application for Frank in which he states he was born in New Brunswick, NJ., so I am hoping that Middlessex was the KEOUGH's county of residence for their entire stay in NJ.

I have not been able to find a Naturalization or DOI for Patrick here in IA.

I do know that these are not the Patrick/Bridget Keough of Passiac, NJ of the same time frame .. if that 'tidbit' proves at all helpful.
