In Reply to: Lewis Morris (b. 1655, m. Elizabeth Almy) and Governor Morris by Carol Ansley of 1259

Lewis Morris of Passage Point was the son of Thomas Morris a relation of Colonel Lewis Morris (1613-1691); Governor Lewis Morris was the son of Richard Morris the younger brother of Colonel Lewis Morris. Upon the deaths of Thomas & Richard both Lewis' became the wards of the Colonel. The relationship between Colonel Lewis and Thomas is not known. The above information is from the book "Lewis Morris, Anglo-American Statesman, ca. 1613-1691" by Samuel Stelle Smith.
