I was at the Monmouth County Archives today and found out the 1875 NJ State census for Monmouth County is available online and is searchable.

Not everyone can be found because some pages were damaged or missing.

The results are returned in single page pdf files. Magnify to 200% for best clarity. I haven't printed any out yet so I don't know how good they'll print.

You can play around with the searches...put no names in to get everyone in a town, or first or last names only, or the first two letters, etc. Right now they aren't linked for browsing from one page to another but they're supposed to add that functionality sometime in the future. It can be done by changing the pdf number in a search result in your address bar but it's very tedious.

Have fun. :)
Jo
