Clouse families of New Jersey

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is any connection between the Clouse families of New Jersey. There is the Leonard Clouse who moved his family to Canada. My line stems from Jacob, b. 1770 married Abigail Dickerson. This line remained in New Jersey settling in Morris and Sussex Counties. There is also another Clouse line that comes from
Frelinghuysen. Members of this branch are found living on
the farm next to my line in the 1870 census. All seem to have the same surnames such as Jacob, John, etc. So many similarities. I am wondering if anyone has looked into this to see if there are any ties between the families. Is it possible that Leonard, b. 1660 and Jacob b. 1770 were brothers?
