Salem County Courthouse, Clerk's Records, Mortgage Book A, p. 213 surnames: Harris, Holme, Keasby, Mayhew, Niukirk, Robinson, Westcott Isaac Niukirk & Ann his wife, Mortgagors to Isaac Harris, Esq., Mortgagee For a certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate in Pitts Grove and is Bounded as followeth Viz~; Beginning at a Bridge in the Deerfield Road and Running from thence N 32º W 5 Chains to a Post in said Land thence along said Road N 30 m. East 21 Chains 17 Ls. to a Stone Corner of Land of Sam'l Mayhew thence part by the said Land & part by Land late Ephraim Westcotts N 74º E 28 Chs. and 70 Ls. Thence by said Niukirk's other Land S 14º W 16 Chs. 50 Ls. to the corner first named. Containing 59 acres 1/4 & 32 perches, 5 acres which being being before conveyed to William Robinson. Together also with all and Singular the Building, Improvements and appurtenances whatsoever To have and to hold & etc.. Mortgage Deed Dated 1st June 1790 Principal Sum £65 - 7 - 4 Payable on the 1st June 1791 in one payment with Lawful Interest till paid. Mortgage Acknowledged the 5th June 1790 by John Holme.
