hello,
I am research the descendants of John Peterson and Edith Clifton, who were said to have been born in Salem Co., NJ. John was the 3rd son of Peter Peterson who came to Salem Co. about 1788. Supposedly John Peterson left his father's home about the age of 8 when his widowed father married an unpleasant, unknown woman. John later met Edith Clifton and they married and had several children. Benjamin was said to have been b. in 1816 in Salem Co. The family migrated to Franklin County Indiana about 1819. I am seeking any information about this family, especially about Benjamin Peterson.
