I am trying to find the ancestors of Runyon Sofield b. abt. 1820 d. aft. 1880 married to Cornelia <unknown> by 1850, then Hannah <unknown> by 1870. Runyon shows up on the 1850-1880 censuses in Franklin Twp. Somerset County as a boatman/captain of boat/bridgetender.

CENSUS RECORDS:
Listed on the 1850 Federal Somerset County Census for Franklin Township, NJ page no. 289 with wife Cornelia and 7 month old son Albert. Occupation is boatman. Last name is spelled "Scofield".
--------------------
Listed on the 1860 Federal Somerset County Census for Franklin Township, NJ page no. 9 with wife Cornelia and children Susan A. age 7, Margaret age 6, Foster age 5, and Martha age 1. Occupation is Boatman Captain. Last name is spelled "Sofield". Son Albert listed on the 1850 census is missing.
--------------------
Listed on the 1870 Federal Somerset County Census for Franklin Township, NJ page no. 93 with wife Hannah and children from 1st marriage Susan A. 19, Margaret age 17, Foster age 16, and children from 2nd marriage William age 6, Albert (number 2?)age 4, and Mary L. age 1. Occupation is "Captain of Boat". Last name is spelled "Schofield". Daughter Margaret from first marriage listed on 1860 census is missing.
---------------------
Listed on the 1880 Federal Somerset County Census for Borough of Bloomington (South Bound Brook), NJ page no. 17, enumeration district 158, with wife Hannah age 51 and children William V. H. age 15, Albert (number 2?) age 14, Mary L. age 10, Carrie age 8, and Chauncy age 3. Occupation is bridgetender. Age is 60 and last name is spelled "Sofield".

I have found on an FTM family file Runyon Sofield b. 1768 with wife Susan Kelly with son Runyon Sofield b. January 1, 1801 with wife Hannah and son Albert b. 2/14/1866. I don't believe the info on son Runyon b. 1801 with wife Hannah is exactly correct. The birth date for son Albert of 1866 would correspond with my Runyon b. 1820 and his second wife Hannah. Could my Runyon b. 1820 with wives Cornelia and Hannah possibly be a son of Runyan Sofield b. January 1, 1801-grandson of Runyan Sofield b. 1768 and Susan Kelly?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jackie Wells Lubinski
