Al, please don't waste too much of your time......I thought it might be that Somerset had originally been called New Bermuda. We know that Sandford folks settled up "North" too.

We are looking for the parent(s) of a Robert San(d)ford who married Ann Jones, daughter of Ambrose Jones and Catherine Collins....some think he was the son of a Robert Sandford and a Mary, who when the father died, Robert Jr."s brother, John was made a ward of John Pettypool. Robert was mentioned, and he showed up in Granville Co., NC a little later than 1747, (when the court in Lunenburg Co. made John Pettypool the guardian...(John was married to a Sarah San(d)ford and some think she was the sister of John Sanford andRobert San(d)ford.

I am going to direct your comments to my friend...and let him take it from here.

Thanks so much for your interest!!

Betty
