Of course, there is Mt. Pleasant Ave. (Essex Co.) and Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (Burlington Co.,), blah, blah, blah.
But doing a search thru my browser, I did find this gen. site:

Seems this person's ancestor was also born in Mt. Pleasant, which he claims was in Monmouth.
Perhaps a phone call to Monmouth Co. offices might help you??
