Nan,
The Mt. Pleasant in Burlington Co. seems to be an estate, not a township. I have a listing of (present) NJ municipalities, and Mt. Pleasant is not listed.
However, Rahway is very old, very historic. You may want to contact their historian:

You don't say what years you are researching -- perhaps if you check a census and rather than looking for a surname, you browse a county. Then the old municipalities may be listed.
