For 23 years of my life I went to St. Michael's Church in Elizabeth. There were parishoners with the last name of "Heck" . Mrs. Heck's maiden name was Mitchell. She worked for her father at the Mitchell funeral home, which became known as the "Mitchell/Heck Funeral Home". I don't know if it is still in existence.
Mary Lou Heck went to Benedictine Academy, 840 N Broad St., Elizabeth, NJ (I did too). I just saw her name in an alumnae publication. She became a mortician and worked at the funeral home. I have no idea where she lives, but, perhaps if you write to Alumnae Dept. of the school, they might be able to send your address to Mary Lou.
Of course, a little donation to the school's annual fund might grease the wheels for you. Good luck!
