CODER in Warren County

I believe my gggreatgrandfather Rev WILLIAM J CODER was from Warren County, NJ. He first appears in written records in Nescopeck, Luzerne County, PA, in the early 1800s.

William is my brick wall. I don't know his exact date of birth (between 1780 and 1790 according to the 1840 census), his place of birth, or his wife's name. According to the 1840 census she was also born between 1780 and 1790 and according to our family oral history she was "Pennsylvania Dutch."

There were Coders in Warren (then Sussex) County, NJ, in Revolution times. A George and Fritz and Simon Coder appear in militia, church & tax records in Warren County but I've not been able to connect them to my William. There are connections between the Henry family, who also came from Warren County, NJ, to Luzerne County, PA.

Any help would be appreciated. I've been searching for William's roots for ages and am getting desperate!

Bridgeville, PA
