Regarding John and Ann Noblit - they had son Thomas, enlisted in the French and Indian War.He belonged to the Warrington Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends. He served with General Wolfe at the Battle of Quebec.Moved to Grayson Co. VA and married Mary King ("Genealogical Collections" by John Hyndman Noblit, Page 311, says he lived in Grayson Co. VA in 1822,Colonial Research Bureau, Wash. DC in Biographical, Genealogical, and Historical Sketch says he died there in 1818.He was listed as having children: Abraham, David, John, Isaac, and Jacob (no mention of daughters)The Colonial Research Bureay also included a son (descendant) named Gallatin W. Noblit.Isaac L. Noblett of Fries or Pulaski City, Grayson County, VA decendant of Thomas through his son, Abraham, furnished data in a letter March 10, 1905, for John Hyndman Noblit:Gallatin W. Noblitt, 12772 - about 1840 - Decendants in Missouri.
The Historical and Biographical Sketch by the Colonial Research Bureau, Wash. DC based on Histories of Missouri counties, gives data concerning Gallatin W. Noblitt and some of his decendants:
Gallatin was a farmer and stock raiser in Catawba, MO.He was a son of thomas Noblitt who fought in French and Indian War.Thomas resided in PA and married Mary King (this goes to substantiate the previous information. The sketch further states that Abraham, son of Gallatin married Elizagbeth Nuckolls in VA. and they had seven children. But only one son is named (A.S. Noblitt)This is thought to be the lineage of Levi, but no proof has been found.
Levi Noblet was vorn in Cumberland Gap, VA (now in TN) in 1799.No birth or death records were available.
If anyone has info on Levi's father, please let me know and advise your source.Thank you
