Hi
I know this may be a long shot Mary Eliz but I'm looking for information on my great grandfather MICHAEL Noone from Galway.Thought to have been born c1900 (died in the 1940s).
He went to London and joined the British Army (served in India) and then later came home to Ireland and joined the Irish Army first in Cork and then McKee Barracks Dublin.
He married a Margaret from Kildare (don’t even have a surname for her)
I’m told he had no brothers or sisters but lots of cousins and well that’s pretty much all I have thus far….
My grandfather was Mannix Edward Noone (known as Mac) born c 1921.
He moved to Dublin and served in the Army and UN in Cyprus and the Congo.
He married Margaret Murphy and had children Marie, Bernie, Patricia, Ann, Sean & Derek.
His brother Ivor was born c1908 and his sister Philly c 1915
Ivor was also in the Army, in Collins Barracks Dublin. He became Provost Marshall then Colonel in the Army and at one point was Aide de Comme to President Kelly?..
Any help at all would be much appreciated!
Many thanks.
Lisa
