The Benejah Nordyke that died 21 Oct 1926 in Indiana is Benejah Rober Nordyke Married Elizabeth Ann White. Benejah was born 8 Jan 1834 in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, is the son of Robert Nordyke and Elizabeth Shaw. He was educated at a deaf and dumb asylum in Indianapolis and married Elizabeth White who was also educated in Indianapolis, both being deaf mutes. Benejah taught a mute school for four years in Indiana and 1 year in Michigan. He then moved to LaPorte county Indiana 1860 remaining only two months when he went to Baldwin City, Kansas where he engaged in teaching a mute school. He then went into farming until 1870 when he returned to Laporte Co. Indiana where he stayed until his death. Benejah and Elizabeth had three children, Robert, Mary, and Charles. Benejah is buried in Door Villiage Cemetery in Door Villiage, Scipio twp, LaPorte County Indiana.
Door Villiage is a town about 2 miles south and west of LaPorte. This is for sure as I personally looked at his grave stone this afternoon.
