Kerenhappuck and other Normans, Rockingham Co., NC, 1820
The 1820 Census of Rockingham County, North Carolina, is unusual in showing one Norman man and four Norman women as heads of households. The women all have children, so are probably widows.
One of the women is Kerenhappuch Norman. Since the name Kerenhappuch is characteristic of Isaac Norman’s descendants and this woman seems to be the widow of a Norman, she may have been married to a relative.
Can anyone identify these families?
