For years I've been searching for the father of my ancestor Pressley I. Norsworthy (b. 1805 GA - d. 1885 LA). His parents were born in N.C.

Your post about Nassery and Nasery, especially "William Nassery in Rowan County N.C.", prompts my mention of the following reference given me by Carolyn Rockwell--a reference I have not been able to get my hands on:

Georgia Genealogical Magazine, page 252 of 272, Wilkes Co., GA 1785: Tax Corrections, by Frank Parker Hudson, p. 14:

"Change William Massery to Nassery--also Nazry."

This correction was made to: Early Records of Georgia, Tax Digest 1785, by Grace Gillam Davidson.

Do you know of, or can you help me to access, the above reference? Secondly, have you any other references to a William Nassery living in Wilkes Co., GA in 1785?
