Hello Anne:I'm descended from James H. Nunnally's Aunt.
Aaron D. Nunnally had a sister, Martha C. Nunnally. Martha C. Nunnally m. William B. Cunningham, 26 Nov 1846, in Pike County, GA. They would be my ggg grandparents.
Martha was the first child of Josiah Elam Nunnally and his SECOND wife, Tabitha Maddox (Mattux,Maddux)WEEMS. Tabitha had been m. before to John S. Weems, he d. in 1826 and Josiah Elam Nunnally as a widower himself m. Tabitha in Pike County, GA 29 April 1828.
Whewww..
OK... Martha C. Nunnally Cunningham died in ENTERPRISE Florida, Yes.... ENTERPRISE Florida 24 January 1855,which is actually upon the north shore of Lake Monroe and is or was on a navigable waterway from Jacksonville FL.
Her grave stone is located in Zebulon Methodist Cemetery, Pike Co. GA. I was there in Oct. 2004 and took some digital photo's of several grave stones. (Andrews, Nunnally and Cunningham). I suspect her husband took her to Enterprise Florida for her health.
You'll notice in the will of Josiah Elam Nunnally that he mentions the Cunningham grandchildren William, Joseph and John. That grandchild William was my gg grandfather.
One last item. I was also at the cemetery in Griffin.
Tooks some grave pictures there as well.
I'd guess that the large NUNNALLY marker there was most likely placed by James H. Nunnally. What do you think?
I can share photo's with you if you'd like.
best wishes, Bob Klebs
