Thank you for answering my message about Lawrence Nusbaumer. I know very little about him. He is my gg grandfather. I know he married a Maggie (Margaret) Price in Wells County, Indiana. The index mistakenly took the fancy "N" in Nusbaumer as an "A", so it is indexed as "Ausbaumer" How, why or when he and Maggie moved to Hancock County, Illinois is not clear. They apparently had two daughters. Rosa and Lily.Rosa was born in 1865, Lily in 1870, both born Illinois. Rosa ia my g grandmother. She married William Sherman Chambers in Hancock County, Illinois.

I know Lawrence served in the civil war, I have his pension application. Actually it is the application for when my g grandmother tried unsuccesfully to collect on his pension. Something must have happened to Maggie for we have found both Rosa and her sister Lily farmed out to other families. I also have a letter written about his death and burial in Adams County, Illinois.

That is about all I know of him, which I know is very little. Don't know if this is of any help to you.

Donna Chambers Thompson
