Donna,

I found Lawrence & his family in the 1870 Census in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, so I did a search through Tippecanoe County, Indiana records while I was at the Allen County Public Library last week. But I found nothing. No mention in anything about Lawrence or his family. I found, I think, Lily & Rosa in Illinois in the 1880 Census, though I'm not for sure that it is them. One of them is listed as a servant and the other as being adopted. What happened to their parents?! What a rough life they must have had! I'm rather surprised they weren't taken in by George or John's families.

If you had any way of getting that picture copied (know anyone with a scanner who could do it for you?), I could take down to the Nusbaumers that are still around here and show it to them and see if they know who is in the picture. I do have a picture of George's family. I have posted it on the Web and you can take a look at it. It is at http://www.parlorcity.com/methomas/images/georgefamily.jpg. (Any future researchers who come along after I've taken it off, email me and I can probably repost it.)

I will email you privately with my snail mail address. I would love to have copies of what you have on Lawrence. Once I have more "clues," I'll see what I can find at the Allen Co. Library. Perhaps I might find something that will help you track something else down. One just never knows what one might find.

Linda
