Hello Chris,
My name is Michelle Graeff and I am researching my Doherty ancestors. I have very little information so here goes:
My ggrandmother was Mary Ann Doherty from Glasgow Scotland
I found that she immigrated to the US in
1896 on the SS Hibernian which docked on Boston, MA.
Mary Ann was born in 1876 and died in 1955 in California.
I do not have any info on her parents, I have ordered a copy of her death certificate, which I hope will give me a lead.
Mary Ann married a man by the name of Joseph Ford who was born in Maryland and had 5 kids. They lived in and around the Tonopah and Goldfield Nevada area in the early 1900's and later moved to California. The last of their kids (my grandmother) pasted away last year.
Please email me if any of this sounds familiar. I will email again when I Mary Ann's death certificate.
