Hello Edward:
The Nevada State Journal, Reno, Nevada Sunday January 7, 1940 page 16 has a long article by J. L. Considine. "Peasley Held Honor Of Pioneer Nevada's toughest". Tells the whole story of the "duel".
Also Thompson & West Nevada 1881 on page 347 mentions the murder on February 2, 1866.
