My dear and late father, Fred Massie,b. 1918, married his first wife Joaquina Ruiz in Reno NV between 1940-1943. I would like to know the date, and if I can obtain a certificate. They drove across from CA to get married.
His uncle, also Fred Massie was b. in CA in 1879. This Fred, a miner, was in Nevada County CA for the 1900 census (taken in June)and Fred was single, living with his parents.
In August 1901, his son Fred Butler Massie was born in Tonopah, NV. Baby's mother was ?? Mabel Borlace. By 1903 Fred was dead, having been crushed to death in a mine in Sonoma, Mexico.
I would also like to find details of this Fred's marriage, and Fred Butler's birth and mother. (In 1910 census the baby was living in CA with his paternal grandparents, no mention of his mother. His grandmother mentioned in family letters only about Fred Butler, "the little boy I am raising")
I am limited in looking for info in USA. I am a Brit in UK, and would love some help and advice here, please.
