Napolean Peltier

I am researching Napolean Peltier born 1838 in Canada. At some point he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana until his wife, Josephine Fanny (Avril) died in 1871. The next place I find him is, Austin City, Lander, Nevada in the 1880 census. He is listed as age 42, widowed and a saloon keeper. His parents birth place was listed as Canada. He has 3 children: Napoline Regina, Lovele Alae & Wilfred Joseph.
The information I have consists of: 1880 & 1870 censuses, marriage records & civil war record. I can't find him after the 1880 census. It is possible he contiued to live in Nevada & died there. His children were adopted by his brother Moses & Marguerite Peltier & moved to Fruitland, Washington. Besides finding where or what happened to him after 1880, I am also trying to find out who his parents were. If anyone knows anything about this family or has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Marie
